Meghan Reckling
President of the Board
Meghan Reckling's extensive 20-plus-year journey in public policy and community service is a cornerstone of her role as President of Second Chance Support Network. Raised on a family farm in Howell, her ingrained values of selflessness and dedication to community service have propelled her into various leadership positions. Meghan's experience is multifaceted: she serves as the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 141 Secretary in Howell. She is a former member of the Board of Directors for the Livingston County Foundation.

Her commitment extends beyond these roles; she is an active member of the Livingston County Sunrise Rotary Club and an instructor for Reaching Higher, a program that brings high-level leadership training to mid-Michigan elementary, middle, and high school students. Furthermore, Meghan's passion for financial education is reflected in her six years as an instructor for Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University, equipping individuals with essential financial management skills.

Meghan's dedication to coaching youth sports further demonstrates her commitment to nurturing community development and growth. Her deep understanding of policy and extensive experience with organizational leadership bring invaluable insight and guidance to Second Chance Support Network. Additionally, Meghan is a successful small business owner. She is married to her husband Mark, a law enforcement officer in Livingston County, and together they have two children and reside in Handy Township, MI.
Carolyn Henry
Secretary of the Board
Carolyn Henry, the Secretary for Second Chance Support Network, has a rich background in legal expertise and community service. As the Chief Assistant Prosecutor for the Livingston County Prosecutor’s Office and a general practice attorney for over two decades, Carolyn's legal acumen is unparalleled.
Her community involvement, marked by her roles as an elected Board Member of the Howell Township Board, the Howell Township Planning Commission chairperson, and her volunteer work with Howell Public Schools, reflects her dedication to public service. Carolyn's comprehensive understanding of the legal system and her deep commitment to community improvement position her to contribute significantly to the organization's accountability and integrity.
In addition to her professional and community roles, Carolyn is an active member of the Livingston County Sunrise Rotary Club. She is a proud mother of two sons and resides in Livingston County.
Mitchell Zajac
Treasurer of the Board
Mitchell Zajac, the Treasurer of Second Chance Support Network, brings a diverse and comprehensive background in law, engineering, and public service. A Shareholder at Butzel's Detroit office, his expertise covers automotive, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, and international trade law, providing him with a broad perspective on organizational management and strategic planning. His legal and engineering experience, particularly his tenure at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, enhances his ability to contribute effectively to Second Chance Support Network.

Mitch is a graduate of the WMU-Cooley Law School (J.D., 2017) and Western Michigan University, where he earned his Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Bachelors of Arts in German from the WMU Lee Honors College (2012) and a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering (2013), publishing two theses on automotive thermal systems. His academic achievements include being a Rhodes Scholar finalist in 2012, interning for Congressman Fred Upton, being a four-year starter on the Division 1 football team at Western Michigan, and a nominee for the American Football Wuerful Award in 2011. He has been recognized as a member of Tau Beta Pi and Phi Kappa Phi, a 3x member and TILA semi-finalist on the WMU-Cooley National Mock Trial Team, and a 2017 Association of Corporate Counsel of Michigan Scholarship Recipient.
Additionally, his accolades extend to being on the Undergraduate, graduate, and law school Dean’s List; receiving the National Phi Kappa Phi Love of Learning award; being named in Who’s Who Among American College Students; winning the WMU CEAS Robert E. Boughner Outstanding Engineering Athlete Award and the National Engineers Week Award (twice); achieving Mid American Conference Scholar Athlete and WMU Top 10 Scholar Athlete statuses; making the Academic All-Mid American Conference Selection (twice); winning the Rothfuss German Award; and receiving the WMU Outstanding Mathematics Award.

Mitch's dedication to public service is evident in his roles as the President of the Association for Child Development and vice-chair of the WMU-Cooley Law School board of directors. He also served as a County Commissioner in Livingston from 2021 until 2022, demonstrating his commitment to civic responsibility.
In addition to his professional responsibilities, Mitch is a high school football and track and field coach at Howell High School, and an active member of the Livingston County Sunrise Rotary Club. He and his wife Amelia, an oncology nurse, are expecting their first child and currently reside in Marion Township, MI. Mitch's wide-ranging skills and experiences in law, engineering, and community engagement are invaluable assets in advancing Second Chance Support Network’s mission and ensuring its ongoing success.

The Board of Directors for Second Chance Support Network meets on the third Tuesday of every month at 6:00 p.m. in the Conference Room at 5840 Sterling Drive, Howell, MI 48843.
Board meetings are open to the public, and guests are welcome to attend.
